About SPLASH
SPLASH does not offer a formal sailing course. However we give children the opportunity to control a small sailing boat and cope with wind and water. This creates a sense of achievement that helps to develop children's self-confidence and encourages self-esteem and co-operation. These taster sessions involve sailing games, exercises, races, etc. Above all, it is meant to be FUN. Children enjoy themselves tremendously!
SPLASH taster sessions are run for organised groups of up to 12 young people Venue is Loch of Skene, a sheltered inland loch 10 miles west of Aberdeen.
Splash is run by experienced sailing enthusiasts who act as voluntary supervisors. Each year they organise themselves to pass on a little knowledge of sailing and a lot of enthusiasm to youth groups and their leaders. Supervisors undergo regular training. SPLASH is registered as an External Provider of Outdoor Education with Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils, is affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority.
